The Australian swimming championships
are considered national swimming championships for Australia. These
championships are organized by the Swimming Australia. Likewise, the meetings
are often double as the selection event for the international competitions for
example, World Champions, Commonwealth Games, Olympics and Pan Pacific
Championships. In addition, some people consider that the meetings are the
second toughest domestic competition in the world after the United States national championships.
The Swimming Australia is considered the summit governing body for competitive swimming in Australia. This body has 100,00 members and they registered in approximately 1199 clubs around Australia. This body also includes swimmers, coaches, volunteers and administrators.
