champions league round of 16

the draw for the last 16 of the champions league couldn't have been worse for manchester city after the defending premier league champions were paired with barcelona during monday's draw.
its the second consecutive season the two have been drawn in the round 16, with barcelona coming away with 4-1 aggregate victory, and it is one of three matchups that offer a repeat of last year's games.
chelsea's pairing with paris saint german is a rivalry also set to be renewed after the pair clashed in the last year's quarter-finals, as chelsea won the tight fixter on away goals.
the pairing seems to be exactly what the parisians wanted: real madrid's game against schalke offers another rematch from last year. meanwhile, arsenal's wishes were answered when as monaco were selected as their opponents, offering manager arsene wenger a chance to face the team he won the ligue 1 title with during the 1987-88 season. a rematch of the past champions league final is also on the horizon when juventus take on borussia dortmund. the germans came away victorious in their first final, capturing a 3-1 victory.

Schwarzenegger is considered among the most important figures in the history of bodybuilding, and his legacy is commemorated in the Arnold Classic annual bodybuilding competition. Schwarzenegger has remained a prominent face in the bodybuilding sport long after his retirement, in part because of his ownership of gyms and fitness magazines. He has presided over numerous contests and awards shows.

For many years, he wrote a monthly column for the bodybuilding magazines Muscle & Fitness and Flex . Shortly after being elected Governor, he was appointed executive editor of both magazines, in a largely symbolic capacity. The magazines agreed to donate $250,000 a year to the Governor's various physical fitness initiatives. When the deal, including the contract that gave Schwarzenegger at least $1 million a year, was made public in 2005, many criticized it as being a conflict of interest since the governor's office made decisions concerning regulation of dietary supplements in California.

He has become 5 times MR.Olympia and after finishing his career in bodybuilding he just make his debut film which is know as Terminator. Even he has been concern the highest paid actor in hollywood.

Cricket and Attitude

Sport alone doesn't look good on the field. What does the crowd come for and what attracts them? They want entertainment. They want things to happen on the field. Long time ago when in cricket only test matches were played, in start people used to come to watch the match but as time passed by and the game became a bit older then not many people used to come to witness the match because the match used to last for 5 days and at times even after 5 days, no result was achieved. This led to invention of one-day games and later T20 (20-over game). Now there is something more that has gained importance from crowd. Let us have a look at this video first.

The expectation has risen since sledging became common  on the field. The fight is also dependent on the nature of the match. If it is Pakistan against India or Australia taking on England, you can expect a lot sledging and fights on the field and many people try to get to the ground with such things to happen. There are many incidents of sledging and fight in term of swearing in past which made ICC to intervene in order to draft rules and regulation in which includes of imposing of fines and bans on players involved but despite the laws, still this issue is growing and we get to see sledging and swearing by many players during the match and we can say that the law seems to not effect the players nature, their temper is out of their control and even rules and regulation seems not to leave a positive impact on players. In IPL (Indian Premier League) Fair Play Award was introduced in order to get make the game and free from any sort of fight but even that could not stop Mitchell Starc and Keiron Pollard from fighting. In past we have seen a massive fight between Afridi and Gambhir, Yuvraj and Flintoff, Samuels and Shane Warne and many other players were involved in different fights. In short, we can say that ethically it looks bad but this has something become depending which is supported by cheers from crowd and it add to the entertainment of the game.

Cricket - Is it a dangerous game?

Cricket has been one of the best games ever played with a lot of fan following. But is it getting too dangerous despite all the protective measures? Have the companies failed to provide with the best of protective equipment? Well possibly yes! No one can deny the fact that despite it being protective, their are some loop holes. The entire world recently witnessed the death of one of the shining stars, Phillip Hughes from Australia. One bouncer from Sean Abbott costed his life. The nerve got damaged and blood was accumulated in his brain but the one major reason was just that one red ball that caused all this to happen. His death was still fresh in our minds before we got news of another death in Mumbai on cricket field, where Ratnakar More, Tata Tower's cricketer who died while playing a club match.

If we look at the past then we will find heaps of cricket who died and the reason behind was cricket. The idea is not to blame cricket but top put a question mark on companies providing cricket gears. May it be Mark Boucher loosing eye or loss of life of Proteas' Darryn, Pakistani Wasim Raja and Zulfiqar Bhatti, Richard from England, Raman Lamba on India and many others have died on cricket field and it is not only the batsmen but also the umpires who are not save. Alcwyn Jenkins was umpiring in a club match where he was struck on his head by a throw from one of the fielder which led to his death which also brings a new discussion in cricketing world that not only players but umpires should also be provided with protective equipments. The reason to write this is not to discourage cricket but to improve the equipment that are currently not 100% safe.

Lin needs to lift his game

Jeremy Lin became a super star after a 10game run with the New York Knicks a few seasons back when he was their point guard. He went from a nobody to a must have. The beginning of this season he was picked up by the Lakers to be their second PG to follow Steven Nash as he was expected to be able to start every game due to ongoing injuries.

This was a big chance for Lin to prove that his 10game streak was not a fluke but a real skill and the player that he is. This chance only increased when Steven Nash didn't even manage to make it past the first game, injuring himself and leaving him out for the rest of the season. Lin went from the second to the starter for the LA Lakers. Lin's performance was decent at best and average in reality. He was inconsistent and sometimes poor. Not even half way through the season and Lin has now been taken off starter and been replaced by Ronnie Price.

This will hopefully come as a wake up call for Lin that he needs to find his game and pick up his performance or risk losing more than his starting position for the Lakers. Jeremy W

Fever: Cricket World Cup Twenty-Fifteen

As Cricket World Cup comes closer, excitement is increasing day by day. Cricket fever is reaching its peak. Team are getting ready for competition. Pakistan are playing with New Zealand, India with Australia, Sri Lanka vs England. Teams have already announced 30-men probables and now their is a fight amongst them those 30-men to make it to final 15. There are big number of supporter joining and buying ticket but ticket of quality matches are already gone. Ticket of Pakistan vs India were sold almost after 30minute when they went on sale. Now let us just talk about the issue in team as well. India are not willing to go the world cup with the lights of Gambhir, Sehway, Yuvraj and other senior players, they have preferred young guns over them. Pakistan are looking forward for mystery spinner Saeed Ajmal participation in the World Cup but before that he needs to get his action cleared, an unofficial test says that his action is under 15-degree but Pakistan might suffer another blow after Muhammad Hafeez has been report for suspect action. Ryder is not a part of black caps 30-me probables. Australia are looking strong but depends how they will respond to the death of Philip Hughes. South Africa also in a good position to win but we should know that Proteas are considered c
hokers. All in all, we can expect a classical show of cricket in the grounds of Australia and New Zealand.

An interesting conference

This season in the NBA our usual conference line up has yet to be formed in this first several weeks of the season. A few teams are really making a mark that isnt common for them, with other teams not doing as well as to be expect. With so many changes to the teams especially the changes with Lebron James along with many other stars leaving the Heat for Cleveland.
In the Eastern conference we are seeing the Raptors leading followed by the Wizards with the Bulls and Hawks fighting it out for third. This season the Heat are yet to be seen as top contenders not even in the top 5. With most of the season still to come it is to early to say who will win and who will fall short, but it is safe to say that this season will not be as predictable as previous seasons.

In the Western conference things are equal as interesting with at least 4 teams all contenders for first and another 6 who are in the fight for top 3. The usual suspects to be seen at the top are also this season falling short. But one team who has been managing to stay in the running despite losing their top goal scorer is OKC, who in the next few weeks might be seeing an increased in their win loss with the return of Kevin Durant. Return of the King

The latest news in the NBA that has got everyone excited is the return of the scoring machine and OKC super-star Kevin Durant. After being out for over 6 weeks due to an ankle injury on Tuesday he finally returned to the court, and he seems to have not lost his stride. He came back full throttle scoring big and getting in on the boards as well.
In his absence point guard super-start Russel Westbrook ensured that the team maintained their top positions, and now with the return on KD the two will be come an unstoppable force to carry OKC to the grand finals. The team now with the centre power of Serge Ibaka, point guard prowess of Russel Westbrook and the now all time scoring champion to date Kevin Durant are all back on the court at one time.

The OKC coach and fans will be looking to see if Durant can match his scoring last season of consistently getting over 30points for over 25games in a row, beating the old holder of this title Michael Jordan. Jeremy W

History of swimming

History of swimming

Swimming, in recreation and sports, the propulsion of the body through water by combined arm and leg motions and the natural flotation of the body. Swimming as an exercise is popular as an all-around body developer and is particularly useful in therapy and as exercise for physically handicapped persons.

Ancient Times

Drawings from the Stone Age were found in "the cave of swimmers" near Wadi Sora
in the southwestern part of Egypt near Libya. These pictures seem to show breaststroke or dog paddle, although it may also be possible that the movements have a ritual meaning unrelated to swimming. This cave is also featured in the movie The English Patient. An Egyptian clay seal dated between 4000 B.C. and 9000 B.C. shows four swimmers who are believed to be swimming a variant of the front craw.

 Middle Ages to 1800

Swimming was initially one of the seven agilities of knights during the Middle Ages, including swimming with armour. However, as swimming was done in a state of undress, it became less popular as society became more conservative, and it was opposed by the church at the end of the middle ages. For example, in the 16th century, a German court document in the Vechta prohibited the naked public swimming of children. Leonardo da Vinci made early sketches of lifebelts.
